Andre' Haynes joins the Counting Board Team for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election

THE HAYNES CO. is proud to announce that the Clark County Election Department has selected Andre' Haynes to be a member of the Counting Board Team for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election.

The 2024 United States presidential election will be the 60th quadrennial presidential election, scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Voters will elect a president and vice president for a term of four years. Incumbent President Joe Biden, a member of the Democratic Party, is running for re-election. His predecessor Donald Trump, a member of the Republican Party, is running for re-election to a second, nonconsecutive term. A number of primary election challengers have also declared their candidacies for the nomination of both major parties. The winner of this election is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.

Prior to the general election, political parties will choose their nominees at nominating conventions. Delegates to the nominating conventions will be chosen by voters in state-level caucuses and primary elections.

The presidential election will occur at the same time as elections to the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House. Several states will also hold gubernatorial and state legislative elections. Crime, education, immigration, gun control, healthcare, abortion access, LGBT rights (especially transgender rights), the state of the economy, and election integrity are expected to be leading campaign issues.

At the time of this writing, declared major candidates for the 2024 Democratic Party presidential primaries include Joe Biden, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Marianne Williamson. Declared major candidates in the 2024 Republican Party presidential primaries include Doug Burgum, Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, Larry Elder, Nikki Haley, Will Hurd, Asa Hutchinson, Perry Johnson, Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, Tim Scott, Francis Suarez, and Donald Trump.

"I am grateful for the opportunity and privilege to be part of the Counting Board Team for a Presidential Primary Election," commented Andre' Haynes.

Overview

Nevada no longer has presidential caucuses. If a major party has more than one presidential candidate officially running in Nevada, we will have a Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, for that party as part of the nationwide process to choose the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates for the November General Election ballot. Early voting for the PPP will be seven days, from Saturday, January 27, to Friday, February 2. The PPP will generally be run like any other election here except that: (1) Early Voting is only seven days instead of 14, and (2) you may vote only if you are registered as Democratic or Republican and your party has more than one candidate officially running in Nevada. Only voters who have Democratic or Republican as their party in their registration may vote in this election. Existing Clark County voters may update their political party affiliation online or in person when they check in to vote using the same-day registration updates process. New Clark County voters may also register online or in person when they check in to vote using the same-day registration process. Other options for registering to vote or for updating your existing registration are available on our web page titled "Ways to Register to Vote or Update Your Existing Registration." Like any other election in Clark County, the Clark County Election Department will conduct the PPP. Like all elections in Nevada, it will be an all-mail ballot election. In-person voting options will still be available during Early Voting and on Election Day. Non-Major Party Candidates

Candidates whose party affiliation is anything other than Democratic or Republican will not participate in the PPP. These candidates will go directly to the General Election ballot. For more information, contact the Secretary of State's office.
